If you feel that you’ve been living in a cave for your entire life, you’re probably not alone. People who have lived like that don’t tend to have a very positive view of the world and can sometimes feel hopeless and overwhelmed. Their homes are a good place to start to get a sense of who they are and what they want out of their lives. I’ve got two of my favorites.
One is this little photo of my father and his brother in the early 1900s. It shows that for most of the time they had not yet begun to use the newfangled technology that was so prevalent in those days. It is amazing how much work needed to be done to get the two of them to the point where they could go out and buy nice furniture, and then decorate it.
Well, that’s a good thing because it means that they were actually able to spend some money on their lives to the extent that they could afford the newfangled things that were just around the corner. The other photo, above, is a close-up of a few family members standing in front of the fireplace in a house I know my father has built.
We love old houses because they are so much fun to look at, especially when they are in that period. The 1920s houses I know are a lot more modern than we are, but they are still fun to look at. My father’s were built in the early 20s, which is probably when they started using more modern materials and designs.
The 1920s are an era that was quite exciting until the Great Depression and World War II came along. In the 1920s, a lot of the styles that would become more popular in the 1960s were new, but some of these new styles wouldn’t be popular for another decade or so. You can find a lot of the 1920s in the homes of the wealthy who were willing to buy new homes, but this is also where many of the “old” homes were built.
The 1920s are also the era I grew up in, so it was probably a weird decade for me. I think I was probably a little more into the “cool” styles than I was into the “awesome” styles, but I love how my house came to life for me in this era.
This house is probably one of the most classic 1920s homes that I’ve seen. It was built in 1915 and has been in my family for a long time. The only thing that I dont like is that the kitchen is tiny, and the living room is in the back instead of the front. The house is full of character and a lot of fun to look at.
I love that you can see inside the kitchen, because that is one of the most fun rooms to work in. The kitchen features a beautiful island with a long island bar, so you can have a drink while you cook. The kitchen and living room (which was the main room of the house) are both spacious and open. And the bedrooms, which are in the back of the house, are very homey.
For me the kitchen is a must have room. To get the best kitchen design that is possible in 1920s you’ll want it to be large enough for a table and a counter top, so you can cook at a full-size, and keep it clean. There are no windows in the kitchen, and the space is large enough that you can have a lot of different appliances and gadgets at your disposal.
Also, the kitchen is the main room of the house. That means that it is the room that is the most likely to have a big gathering place for friends and family. For the 1920s there were few gatherings that you could just pull up to at your house. In fact, the only gathering places for friends were on the street where you could meet at a designated spot. So, the kitchen was the place that was most likely to have a place to meet.
