South Africa is a very small country, and its pretty much a case of being able to find someone and hire them to do all the construction work for you.

While I may not be able to say that a professional interior designer is the best person to hire, I can say that the experience is an important one.
In South Africa, it seems that some architects and interior designers are not willing to go out and visit someone for the experience. They hire someone from their office or have them come to their house as a client, and they then only do that during certain hours. They’re obviously using it as a way to get free work, but I suspect that they don’t see it as a genuine relationship. Many of their clients are also very poor and cannot afford to pay for their own designer.
In South Africa, the same thing happens in a lot of different places. In some places, the homebuyer hires someone from their office/firm and they do the interior design themselves. In other places, they hire someone from your office/firm and they do the interior design on a commission basis.
I see nothing wrong with that. The interior design is often less expensive than hiring someone from a fancy officefirm. There are also cases where a client hires a designer from your officefirm and pay the designer a higher rate.
